Gilliam Wellness Center at Milligan College

 

S. B. White Company has been selected to partner with Burleson Construction Company for an exciting project on the campus of Milligan College.  The long awaited wellness center is now going to be constructed.  The new 7300 square foot stand alone facility will house 15-20 cardiovascular machines, free weights, a student recreation area, an aerobics room, and a spinning room equipped with 10-15 bikes.  The facility will also house offices for the campus nurse and intramurals director.  The construction is funded in full by the Richard B. Gilliam family of Charlottesville, VA.  The facility will be a LEED certified building, conforming to the "green" standards of the Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design.  It will contain skylights, solar tubes, and several other energy efficient and environmentally friendly aspects.  The facility will have cfc free refrigerant Trane HVAC equipment and low flow plumbing fixtures including dual flush water closets.  The project will begin this summer and should finish sometime in early 2010.
